Check out our recent interview with Ari!
upfrontNY: What do you love most about dancing?
Ari Lopez: I love that it allows me to express my heart. When I’m dancing, I feel like I can break free into another universe. I don’t have anything on my mind, and I can dance my heart out.
upfrontNY: What has it been like being a part of “Dance Moms”?
Ari Lopez: It has been an amazing experience being on dance moms. It’s so great to dance with the minis and juniors and be on the mini team. They’re all such great people. I love working with my teacher, Abby Lee Miller.
upfrontNY: How do you feel when you are on stage?
Ari Lopez: I feel great, but when I first go on, I have butterflies. Once I’m in the middle of the dance, I know that everything is okay, and I just need to have fun and do my best. Our performances matter a lot because Abby can take us off of the team at anytime, so we have to make her happy.
upfrontNY: How do you get ready for a competition?
Ari Lopez: Usually we get our hair and make up done, then we put our costumes on. We run through the dances a couple of times with Abby and Gia and make corrections before going backstage and having a pep talk.
upfrontNY: If you could have any singer or band perform while you are dancing on stage, who would it be?
Ari Lopez: Ariana Grande, Beyoncé , and Kehlani
upfrontNY: What do you like to do when you’re not dancing?
Ari Lopez: I love to spend time with my family and keep up with my fans. I usually stretch everyday.
