The legendary Beacon Theatre was the scene of the first Fresh fm 102.7 Holiday Jam. This event was sponsored by Mercedes –Benz Manhattan and Royal Carribean. Many fans of Fresh spent the snowy night inside this beautiful theatre rocking out to the talented musicians that graced the stage.
Brooklyn based rock band, American Authors opened, getting the crowed warmed up. This talented band performed a variety of songs off their album including the crowds’ favorites “Believer” and “Best Day of My Life” which was announced to be Fresh FM’s number 1 song of the year. The band was presented with a plaque for this award. Fans were even treated to a special performance of their new song “Nothing Better” before it has even been recorded. This song is fun and catchy and could possibly be a hot single for the group.
Echosmith took their turn on the stage next. These talented siblings had the crowd putting their hands together and moving to the music. The group surprised the crowd as they invited Pat Monahan from train on stage for a special performance of “Bright.” These “Cool Kids” put on a great performance! Keep your eye out for their tour starting in February.
As the stage was being set, the crowd got ready for one of their favorites. Gavin Degraw is one of the best performers with his voice, piano, and dance moves. The crowd was on their feet through his performance and singing as he performed many of his popular songs. Gavin ended his set with “Not Over You” and his fans are definitely not over him!
Daughtry slowed things down with his guitar as his powerful voice echoed throughout the theatre. Songs from his set included; Superman, Home, and his new one, Battleships. He even gave the crowd a holiday song, singing “Blue Christmas” by one of his favorites, Elvis Presley.
Train closed the show as Pat Monahan and the rest of his band took the stage. They started their set with their new song, Cadillac, Cadillac. Pat has a smooth voice that sinks deep inside to your emotions; from the fun and entertaining songs to the passionate and romantic slow songs. Train always puts on a great performance and they did not disappoint!
The evening was filled with fun music, dancing, singing, and good looking musicians. This was a great way to begin a celebration of the Holiday Season!
